The key takeaway: no single book wins every game. DraftKings, Caesars and Fanatics topped the best-price share in our samples, while bet365 scores highest for overall product quality.

Best MLB odds and where value shows up

MLB is a high-volume sport — a full slate can run 15 games a day — so shopping lines matters more here than in a one-game-a-week sport. Two numbers from our odds sampling are worth understanding:

Best-price share tells you how often a book had the top number on the market. DraftKings led at 54.0%, followed by Fanatics (41.8%), Caesars and FanDuel (both around 36%). Average margin tells you how much the book bakes into its lines. Fanatics (4.24%) and DraftKings (4.25%) ran the tightest; BetRivers (6.36%) and Caesars (5.28%) the widest.

A tight margin plus a high best-price share is the value combination — which is why DraftKings and Fanatics stand out for run lines, totals and moneylines. If you only hold one account, that pairing gives you the best chance of a good number on any given night. If you can hold two or three, adding bet365 or FanDuel lets you line-shop across daytime and prime-time slates.

Live betting, same game parlays and cash out

Baseball's pace suits in-play betting: you get natural pauses between innings and at-bats to price live moneylines, run totals and next-half-inning markets.

Licensing, legal states and picking your book

US sports betting is regulated state by state. An operator licensed in New Jersey by the DGE is not automatically legal in another state — availability, minimum age and rules depend on your state regulator (NJSGC, PGCB, MGCB and others). The minimum betting age is 21.
